Energy Saving Tips for Your Home Appliances

With rising electricity costs, learning to reduce your appliance consumption can save significant amounts annually.

Automatic Washing Machine

  • Wash with full loads whenever possible
  • Use cold water — 90% of washer energy goes to heating water
  • Clean the drain filter monthly for higher efficiency
  • Choose shorter wash cycles for lightly soiled clothes

  • Refrigerator

  • Set temperature to 3-5°C for the fridge and -18°C for the freezer
  • Don't put hot food in the fridge
  • Check the door gasket — place a paper in the door and close it; if it slides out easily, the gasket needs replacement
  • Keep 10cm gap between the fridge and the wall
  • Clean rear cooling coils annually

  • Air Conditioner

  • Set temperature to 24-25°C
  • Clean filters monthly
  • Close windows and doors while AC is running
  • Use heat-reflective curtains
  • Schedule preventive maintenance twice yearly

  • Dryer

  • Use the dryer with full loads
  • Clean the lint filter after every use
  • Dry similar-thickness fabrics together

  • General Tip

Partially malfunctioning appliances consume more electricity. If you notice any appliance not working at normal efficiency, contact us for an inspection.
